02/20/2005: "Down Time"
2.20.05
I've been busy, and news has been sparse; hence, there have been few updates as of late. So, first, the business stuff...
I'm officially done with my portions of Green Ronin's Thieves' World RPG. It was a fun ride, and I miss it already. I'm hoping they might throw a few more scraps my way in the meantime.
The Game Mechanics have announced the up-coming first volume of the Future Player's Companion. I worked on FPC1 in conjunction with Rodney Thompson, and we'll be working together on the next two volumes. There isn't an official product page yet, but there has been some discussion on The Game Mechanics' forums. I'm really looking forward to this one.
Temple Quarter, the second book in TGM's City Quarters series, will be out soon. As with Thieves' Quarter, I contributed a small number of words to this product. Keep an eye out for it, because it's a really great book.
As for recreation, I haven't been doing much in the way of gaming lately. I plan to pick up the pace on that soon. I hadn't played anything for about two months until just last night, when I participated in the Lost Temple of Demogorgon adventure (which is currently in Dungeon Magazine #120), DMed by Sean K. Reynolds. It's a wicked adventure, designed with 13th level characters in mind. Sean only allowed us to play 11th level characters, though, which made it even scarier.
Amy bought me an XBox. It was originally intended as a Christmas gift, but there was no stock and the thing only just shipped to us this last week. I've been clocking some time on Halo 2 (the only XBox game that I own). All I can say is that it's a good thing it hadn't arrived before I was done with Thieves' World, or I would've been in serious trouble with my deadline.
Speaking of Amy, she's very pregnant. It's gotten to the uncomfortable stage for her (not to say that the 5-6 months of morning sickness was comfortable, but all things are relative). We've only got about six weeks left before the newest member of the Astleford clan sees the light of day. There's so much more to do, and so little time left.
Things to do: I need to see about getting some Gen Con SoCal pictures posted eventually. I'd also like to put up some character spots in my Games section.
All for now!
